Perinatal
Perinatal psychology
The perinatal period — from trying to conceive, through pregnancy, birth, and into the early months of motherhood — is a time of profound change in identity, body, and relationships. While culture surrounds it with the promise of "the most beautiful chapter of your life," the reality can be filled with uncertainty, anxiety, sadness, loneliness, and sometimes clinical challenges: perinatal depression, postpartum anxiety, perinatal trauma.
Psychological support during this time has its own distinct character — it brings together an understanding of emotions with knowledge of physiology, perinatal health, and shifting roles. It's there for people in the middle of that transition, and for their partners too — so no one has to go through it in silence and alone.
